TESS ed.1 – crated from smooth black leather – takes normcore seriously: adaptive, functional, stylistically unfazed, and just a touch rebellious. But never caught up in glamour. TESS ed.1 strikes that elusive balance between elegance, understatement, and a borderline obsession with organisation. Never a stranger to style, but never shouting either. The spacious main compartment is made for whatever the day throws at you. Inside, a zipped pocket keeps high-risk items safe – headphones, receipts, your favourite pen. There’s also a side pocket for those little things you’re always looking for, even though they’re exactly where you left them.

On the front exterior: another zipped compartment for quick access – to tickets, lip balm, or the shopping list that will later double as a bookmark.

And just when you think that’s all, there’s one more pocket – subtly integrated at the top. Opens without revealing the whole bag – perfect for things that prefer to stay discreet. Easily accessible, practical, discreet to the point of politeness. Look closer, and you’ll find a snap-button side compartment inside it. A pocket within the pocket – for cards, backup plans, or those mysterious objects you hope no one will ever find. Not even you.

Ways to wear: Can be carried as a shoulder bag, crossbody, or clutch.
Combinations: The carabiner rings allow for pairing with smaller INA KENT models and accessories. Especially fitting: BAG CHARM ed.1–ed.4 and the signature BALL’N’CHAIN ed.1 keychain.
Strap: Wide, flat-woven shoulder strap made from soft cotton – minimal in appearance, maximum in comfort. Removable and fully adjustable in length. Max. length: 130 cm.
Hardware: The snap hooks – our unsung heroes – are custom-made for us. Easy to open and close, they let you switch styles with just a few moves.

This piece is crafted from pigmented smooth leather with a soft, supple surface and fine, even texture. The pigment coating provides light protection while allowing natural features such as scars or insect bites to remain visible, highlighting the authenticity of the material.

We use only high-quality leathers. However, smooth leather is sensitive to friction, moisture, and frequent use. Over time, the surface will soften and develop an individual patina – a natural process that enhances the character of each bag. As leather is a natural material, subtle variations in colour and texture are inherent. 

To best protect your INA KENT bag, we recommend the following:

  • Before first use, apply a small amount of a specialised leather care product suitable for pigmented smooth leather. Repeat occasionally to maintain protection.
  • Clean gently with a soft microfiber cloth – avoid vigorous rubbing or abrasion, as this may damage the surface.
  • Avoid contact with water, excessive sunlight, or heat – such exposure may alter or fade the finish.
  • Keep away from rough or abrasive surfaces: even minor scuffs may be visible on smooth leather.
  • Do not use conventional care products not specifically formulated for pigmented leather; oils, waxes, or solvent-based sprays may damage the surface.
  • Avoid contact with materials that may transfer colour pigments – this can be particularly noticeable on lighter finishes.
  • Avoid contact with light or delicate materials – slight colour transfer may occur when exposed to warmth, moisture, or friction.
  • For cleaning or visible signs of wear, we recommend consulting a professional leather care specialist.
